As I mentioned in the Jaco III posting, Kyle and I headed to Playa Hermosa (about 5 km south of Jaco) for a day of surfing. Jaco was a small this morning and we were told that Hermosa was pretty big yesterday so we came to check it out.
Playa Hermosa has a small community along the northern part of the beach, and nothing to the south. It's a very exposed and empty beach, but at the same time it is very beautiful. On this day, I had the whole beach to myself. And there were only a handful of surfers too. We were actually pretty lucky during this trip as we had sparsely populated beaches. But yes, some places, like Tamarindo or even Jaco, were busier than others, but it sure wasn't like they were crowded...you could always find a piece of beach for yourself away from others.
Kyle was surfing too far out for me to snap any pictures, but here he is coming in after a good session. We came to this beach once during our first trip to Jaco as well, but no surfing as the waves were way to messy.
