The four of us packed our things, and we headed to Nosara.
Here's a view of the Gulf of Nicoya that we crossed on the ferry to get to Malpais from Jaco.
And here is a local cemetery we passed en route. Thanks to Derek and Andy, this was the first time we've been able to stop at one and grab a few pictures.

When we left the Surf Camp, the owner told us to go see his friend, Peter Lewis, who owned the Beach Hotel in Nosara. We asked for directions, and all he said was, "You can't miss it, looks like a Russian church." So we get into town and we're reading the signs to locate this hotel. We passed by again, and still not one of us saw a sign for the Nosara Beach Hotel.

So we drive around again, and finally track someone down who points us in the right direction. But we still can't find it, and we hit another beach. Alittle weird.
From the first and the second beaches you can see this place, but the roads are windy and go every which way, but FINALLY we find the place!
The Derek and Andy head up into the hotel, two dogs start barking at them. So they call out and no one answers. They headed up into the lobby to check things out, still nothing. Finally Kyle decides to go up as well. Nothing. No one. How weird is that? The place is empty.
A view of the pool. It's well-kept anyways, whether it's open or not.
And all of the construction still happening...supposeably this guy, "Peter Lweis" has been working on it for the last 15 years.
This hotel is located right on a point-break, which Kyle has been craving all trip as he's a little sick of all the beach breaks. It has amazing views of both the beaches, but no one here.
Well, as we were heading back to to vehicle, we started to worry that maybe it wouldn't start...well you know how the movies go...it sure was creepy.

We ask him about Peter Lewis. Who? The owner...nope that's not the owner, never heard of him. Weirder. Okay so I guess we won't be staying here, but we decide to check the place out anyways, as much as we can. Can anyone say horror movie cliché? Ya, it started getting a little creepy.

Well, as we were heading back to to vehicle, we started to worry that maybe it wouldn't start...well you know how the movies go...it sure was creepy. We finally found a hostel to stay at, which all four of us shared. We then talked to the managers about the Beach Hotel...it's open occassionally but never with set times/dates, and the owner is not a"Peter Lewis" but some totally different name, not even similar! No one knows the full story about the place other than talking with a few randoms who are actually staying there ever now and again.
Anyways, we got settled in to a nice peaceful and safe hostel. This is the view of the ocean from the balacony.
As the boys surf, I amuse myself by random pictures on the beach.

Alittle side note here: we don't know what this fruit is, but while in Malpais we got to try it at a local restuarant. This fruit is amazing! We finally found some at a market in Nicoya as we were passing through to Nosara. You bit open the outer shell, eat the fleshy inside, and spit out the pit. They were so tasty!
