Boat Trip - Playa Colorado

Did someone say Boat Trip!!!! We're there! Kyle and I signed up to go to Playa Colorado. He was stoked! He wanted at least one boat trip during our travels (just in case we didn't make it out to Ollie's Point and Witch's Rock). So off we go...here's our captain standing by the boat.Kyle is stoked and ready to surf his heart out!

We went with 4 Americans, and the 2 man/boy crew - our young captain is pictured below.

The coastline from the boat was breath-taking! It was about an hour boat ride to the beach.

Surf's UUUUpppp! It's go time!

Kyle was in his glory on this trip. I admit, it was pretty cool, however, right before we turned the boat into the bay, one fo the American guys asked where my board was...I told him I wasn't surfing. We found out that the boat doesn't go to the beach, and since I'm not the greatest swimmer Kyle would have to paddle me out...we didn't have a dry bag with us on the trip, so I would have been on the gorgeous white sand beach as pictured below, but I would have no camera, no book, no water, and no sunblock...so I spent the full 6 hours (with 3.5-4 hours of surfing) suntanning and leeping on the boat...suited me just fine. I watched the crew guys fish...they catch a few blowfish, a swordfish, and a small manta ray.

On the trip back to San Juan, we saw yet another amazing sunset.

And some pelicans. One was flying right behind our boat so we got up close and personal for some shots!

And again, here is our youthful boat crew.
